We’re not just keeping up with progress. We’re building it.

The Newark Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NEJATC) is transforming a vacant space into a world-class training center, shaping the next generation of Ohio’s electrical professionals.

We're not just opening doors. We're building what's next.

The Story

More than a building. A declaration of progress.

We're honoring where we've been by creating space for what comes next. The Newark Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NEJATC) training center will be a living symbol of progress, a place built by hard work, for hard-working people, that will shape the next generation of Ohio's electrical professionals.

For over 100 years, the Newark Electrical JATC has helped individuals transform ambition into ability and potential into purpose. Now, that legacy continues in a new home: a 90,000-square-foot training center in Heath, representing growth, opportunity, and the future of the trades.

What began as an idea to renovate an empty Sears space has become a living symbol of transformation. Inside, apprentices are learning the skills that power industries, strengthen communities, and build what’s next for Ohio.

The ribbon-cutting of the new training center marks the first phase in a larger evolution. Over the next year, the Newark Electrical JATC will undergo a comprehensive rebranding, featuring a new name, website, and visual identity that reflect the organization's strength and modern spirit. This transformation will position NEJATC not only as a leading force in electrical education but also as a model for how trade organizations can shape the future of their communities.

For Everyone Who’s Building What’s Next

This is work worth doing.

This new training center isn't just a milestone for the Newark Electrical JATC. It's a testament to what's possible when public servants, industry partners, community members, and apprentices come together with a shared vision. Each group plays a vital role in this transformation: leaders who champion workforce development, businesses that invest in skilled talent, residents who benefit from local revitalization, and apprentices who bring energy and ambition to the trade.

When these forces align, the impact goes far beyond a single building. It creates a ripple effect of opportunity, economic growth, and pride that elevates the entire region. Together, we're not just training electricians; we're shaping the future of the industry. We're building a stronger, more resilient future for Ohio. That is work worth doing.
